KNOX CHURCH.

ANNUAL MEETING OF WOMEN’S MISSIONARY UNION. The annual meeting of the Knox Church Presbyterian Women’s Missionary Union was held in Knox Hall recently. The Rev. J. Davie presided. The secretary presented the report of the year’s work showing a good attendance and interesting addresses at meetings and continued support of the monthly prayer meetings. The total membership was 70. Various reports were read and adopted. Each showed that good work had been carried out during the past year. The treasurer presented the balance sheet, £97 having been collected and paid to the different mission works of the branch. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mrs. Clark; vicepresidents, Mrs. Davie, Mrs. Ross, Mrs. Willoughby, Mrs. Malmo and Miss M. McGregor; secretary, Miss O. lorns; treasurer, Mrs. G. R. Beecroft; M.M. 8.T., Mrs. McCracken; Harvest Field, Mrs. G. Moriee; Busy Bee, Mrs. Kitchener; stamp secretary, Miss Wallis; Oriental secretaries, Mesdames Willoughby and Henderson; correspondence secretary, Mrs. Taylor; committee, Mesdames Henderson, J. D. Ross, Ractliffe, Moriee, Jas. McGregor, Misses L. McGregor and J. McLaren; organist, Mrs. Montgomery. Mr. Davie congratulated the branch on the work done through the past year and gave a short address, taking as his subject “Modern Problems; the Need of the World To-day and the Part the P.W.M.U. can take in Helping to Fulfil that Need.” Votes of thanks were accorded the chairman (the Rev. J. Davie); the auditor (Mr. A. D. Low) and hospital visitors and hostesses during the past year. Afternoon tea was served by a committee of ladies.
