The many Wairarapa friends of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Ellis will regret to learn that their infant son “Bobs” is seriously ill in the Dannevirke Hospital. The many friends of Mrs. Rebecca Karens Nunn, wife of Mr. Robert William Nunn, of Carterton, will regret to hear of her death, which occurred yesterday at her residence, High Street, Carterton. The late Mrs. Nnnn had resided in the district for many years and was held in high esteem by all who knew her. The funeral will take place to-morrow, leaving the residence at 2.30 p.m. for the Clareville Cemetery.
The death occurred at the Mastertoa Hospital yesterday morning of Mrs. Miriama Mita, wife of Mr. Matiahe Mita, of Gladstone, after a brief illness. The late Mrs. Mita, whose maiden name was Namana, was 24 years of age and was well known and very popular in the Gladstone district where she had resided all her life. She is survived by her husband and three young children who will have the sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their sad bereavement. The funeral will take place at the Native Cemetery, Gladstone, at 2.30 p.m. to-day.
Constable L. W. C. Le Comte, who for the past ten years has been stationed in Masterton, was farewelled. last night by fellow members of the police force, prior to his departure on transfer to PaMatua. Sergeant T. H. Dyer, on behalf of the Wairarapa police, presented Constable Le Comto with a wallet, accompanied by the best wishes of all for Jiis future. Several constables endorsed Sergeant Dyer’n remarks and the recipient suitably replied.. Constable Le Comte leaves Masterton to-day. His successor is Constable R. Hollis, of Wellington.
