GREYTOWN ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING. GOOD PRODUCTION DURING PAST SEASON. There was a fair attendance of members at the annual meeting of the Grey town Herd Testing Association. Mr. L. J. Thompson presided. It was decided to carry on and continue canvassing for members on the same basis as in other seasons and with the same charges. The following executive officers were elected for the ensuing yar: Messrs L. J. Thompson, chairman; A. M. Haigh, P. Hammond, R. R. Tilson, R. C. O’Neale, H. H. Hawkins, and R. W. Beu. Messrs L. J. Thompson, A. M. Haigh and P. Hammond were appointed delegates to the Wairarapa Herd Testing Association. The thirteenth annual report of the association stated:— 4 4 The past season has been an exceptionally good one, and this coupled with better prices ruling for butterfat places the dairy farmer in a more comfortable position. Some excellent records have been established by herds and individual cows under test. Production is very satisfactory and stands at a particularly high level. The milk sampling and testing plant is in good order. In the 1934-35 season, 1410 Group cows, comprising 33 herds; and 44 Own Samples Association,” 5 herds with 107 cows were tested. This season, 1935-36, 1488 Group cows, in 32 herds, and 4 ‘Own Samples Association,” 58 cows in 3 herds were under test. In the 1934-35 season, 42 calves were tattoo-marked; this season (1935-36), 50 calves were marked. The season closed with a small balance. The response for next season’s membership is, so far, quite good and it is anticipated that two complete groups will be formed against the one and a quarter groups of the past few seasons. ’ ’
