DAIRY SALE.
Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report:—We held a sale of dairy cows on behalf of Mr. Chas. Fairbrother at the Carterton yards yesterday. The offering comprised the entire Greytown herd, a good lot of dairy cows. The attendance was only moderate, and vales, compared with recent sales, were certainly in buyers’ favour. However, as the sale progressed, prices showed an improvement. The top cows ranged from £6/10/ to £B, but late calvers and cows not showing much quality went a good deal lower. Several sold for about £4. The vendors met the market and the whole herd was disposed of by auction.
