I MEN’S BIBLE CLASS ANNUAL ■' MEETING. J At the invitation of Mr. and Mrs. F. i C. Daniell, Essex Street, the annual J meeting of the Men’s Bible Class was ■ held a_t their home on Sunday. The ■ president, the Rev. G. F. Stoekwell, J presided over a large attendance, and ■ the Rev. W. McDonald was also prei sent. An apology was received from J Mr. A. E. Bate, one of the viee-presi- ■ dents, who was taking services that ’ day at Eketahuna. The secretary (Mr. ■ Murray Daniell) presented an illumin- ■ ating report of the work of the class J during the year. The numbers had in- ■ creased, and the interest had been well ! maintained. A change-over had been ■ made in the time of meeting, the class « now meeting in the morning left the J members free for work in the Sunday J school during the afternoon. The lead- ■ ers, Messrs A. E. Date and E. Steer, J had done fine work, and the class en- • tered the new year in good heart. , Some of the young men were regularly ■ taking services, and their work was ■ much appreciated. The presence of the J Bible Classes at the morning service ■ was favourably commented on by the i minister, who was thanked for his spe--1 cial interest in all that concerned the i well-being of young men. [ The treasurer’s report spoke favour- • ably of the assistance the class had gii ven to the support of the Wairarapa ' Union, a credit balance being shown, i The camp at Penrose had been a great [ success and a source of spiritual inspir- • ation to many of the campers, and a ( time of happy fellowship. The outgoing officers were thanked for their services, and all re-elected. The class will unite with the Young Women’s classes for the annual thanksgiving service on August 9, when Miss Firth, Y.W. Travelling Secretary, will give the address. At the close of the meeting the members were entertained at tea by Mrs. Daniell. Between tea and evening wor1 ship, community singing from the new Methodist hymn-book was greatly enjoyed. A vote of thanks to the host and hostess, and the singing of the Doxology, brought to a close a happy and profitable gathering.
