Mr. C. M. Wright, of Pahiatua, has been appointed resident agent for the -Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing 00.. Ltd., at Pahiatua.

Mr. C. J. Cross, of the Masterton branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., has been transferred to Pahiatua as clerk in charge of the Pahiatua office of the company.

A cablegram received last night from Sydney reported the death of Mr. James Fraser, C.M.G., formerly Chief Commissioner of the New South Wale® Railways, aged 74.

Votes of thanks for their past services to two members who have resign* ed on removing to other districts— Messrs A. H. W. Evenden and C. M. Bowden—were passed by the Masterton Chamber of Commerce at its meeting yesterday.
