INTER-COLLEGE CONTESTS.
WAIRARAPA AND NAPIER HIGH SCHOOLS. RUGBY MATCH ON FRIDAY. On Friday the annual ’Rugby mateh between the Wairarapa and Napier Boys’ High Schools will be played at. Masterton, starting at 2.30 p.m. The visitors are due to arrive by the afternoon train and will return home on Saturday morning. Last year, when the match was played at Napier, Wairarapa were defeated by one point, 11 to 10, after a keen contest. The Wairarapa team for Friday is as follows: —Full-back, T. Wilton; three-quarters, T. Horton, M. Martin, 8. Blatter; fiveeighths, I. Prior, B. Patrick; half, G. Brown; forwards, back row, Dyer; middle row, 8. Ihaka, W .Munro, Hendry, Burling; front row, G. Falloon, S. Judd, I. Blake. Emergencies: J. Brown, G. Leith, M. Bodie. HOCKEY* BASKETBALL VISIT TO DANNEVIRKE. Two hockey teams, from which will be selected a basketball team will visit Dannevirke this week to take part in contests with the Dannevirke High School. The Wairarapa High School teams will leave Masterton to-morrow and will return on Saturday. Following are the Wairarapa High School’s hockey teams: — Senior: Margaret Dawson, Joan Wilton, Jean MaeKenzie, Barbara Dawson (captain), Nancy Spiers, Helen Howes, Elaine Hanley, Mary Monro, Claire Wright, Edna Madsen, Jean Morice. Junior: Ruth Mackay, Florence Beiliss, Beth Dixon, Dorothy Heaven, Moira Whyborn, Alison Davie (captain), Doreen Matthews, Molly Dolan, Annie Ireland, Beatrice Bennington, Jean Riley.
