BEAUTIFUL BABIES.
PLUNKET SOCIETY COMPETITION OPENED. EXCELLENT ENTRIES RECEIVED. Particularly keen interest 'is being taken in the Beautiful Baby photographic competition, organised by the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society, which opens to-day. Entries, which total 308, ’exceeded expectations. The competition, which will run for a fortnight, will raise much-needed funds for the branch? Photographs of the entrants are on display in the Showrooms of Messrs Hugo and Shearer and in the windrows of the W.F.C.A. Ltd. Those in the W.F.C.A. include two classes of younger babies, twins and family groups, while the photographs in Messrs Hugo and Shearer’s include various classes, ranging from babies of one year to children of six years. The competition has been divided into a number of classes and the winners will be decided by populaY vote. A penny represents one vote and voting will be open at Messrs Hugo and Shearer’s and at the W.F.C.A. from 10.30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Keen interest was taken yesterday in the displays and it is hoped that the competition will be strongly supported by the general public as the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society is badly in need of additional funds in order that there may be no curtailment of its valuable community work.
