APOLOGY GIVEN.
BY MOTUEKA AERODROME Workers. HON. R. SEMPLE’S REPLY. WELLINGTON, July 3. The apology he demanded from the workers at the Motueka Aerodrome was received by the Minister of Public Works (the Hon. R. Semple) to-day. The message reads:—“This section of the New Zealand Workers’ Union apologises and withdraws all resolutions reflecting on the Minister of Public Works or on the Government.” The Minister has replied by telegram in the following terms: —“Received your wire containing apology and withdrawal of resolutions passed by your section. Thanks for same. All I ask of your section and public works workmen generally is service, loyalty, and good will. If these are forthcoming, I shall endeavour to be the friend of the workmen. On the other hand, if malingering, wrecking, or organised disturbances are created without any logical reason, as in your case, you can expect from me no quarter.”
