MENACE TO FLYING.
REMOVAL OF POWER LINES DESIRED. NO CONTRIBUTION FORTHCOMING A proposal from the Wairarapa Aero Club that the Wairarapa Power Board should make a contribution towards the cost of putting underground the 11,00© volt lines adjoining the Hood Aerodrome was not entertained by the board at its meeting yesterday. The Secretary-Manager, Mr. G. Brown, stated that the lines had been up for 14 years, a long time before the aerodrome was established. It would be quite a big job to put the wires underground. Mr. C. R. Holmes: "If the Defence Department paid for it it would be all right.” A member: "The club bought the ; place with its eyes open.” It was decided to inform the elub that the board was not prepared to make a contribution as suggested.
