MASTERTON SALE.

WRIGHT STEPHENSON & CO., LTD Messrs Wright Stephenson and Co. Ltd. report: —We held our weekly sale at Masterton yesterday when a yarding well over advertised numbers was offered to a good attendance. .Sheep maintained late rates, and a clearance .was effected at very satisfactory prices. Cattle also sold well, and pigs were much firmer. Following are the prices

Sheep: Fat ewes, to 20/2; fat maiden ewes, to 24/; ewe hoggets, to 29/; b.f. lambs, to 16/8; wether lambs, to 17/2. Cattle: Fat P.A. cows, to £6; fat dairy cows, to £3/15/; Hereford eows, r.w. P.A. bull, to £4/2/; cows and calves, to £5/14/; forward cows, £2/12/ to £2/17/; springing cows, C.S., £6 to £6/17/6. Pigs: Weaners, 7/6 to 9/; weaners (small), to 5/; sows to farrow, to £4.

N.Z. LOAN & MERCANTILE. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report on the Masterton sale as follows:—A good entry of sheep was submitted to a fair attendance of buyers. Competition on the whole was fairly keen with a good clearance at the following prices:— Fat b.f. 2-tooths, 28/, 27/3 to 27/; fat wethers, 28/6; light fat lambs, 19/9; forward ewes, 16/6; b.f. lambs, 17/9, 16/9, 16/4 to 15/1; w.f. lambs, 18/5 to 17/; ewe lambs, 25/2. DALGETY & CO., LTD. Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report on their weekly Masterton sale held yesterday as follows: —A good yarding of sheep came forward and met with spirited competition from a large attendance of buyers. Fat sheep sold at advance prices, while ewes r.w. S.D. rams and w.f.w. lambs also met with a keen market. In the lamb section we offered two nice lines on account of “Kumu Kumu” Station, the w.f. shorn wether lambs on account of this station making 19/9, and the w.f. woolly w. lambs 20/5. We report a total clearance under the hammer as follows:—

Fats: Fat lambs, 21/ to 25/6; prime fat Down 2-tooths, 27/6; light fat we25/6. Store sheep: 2-tooth to 5-year ewes, r.w. S.D. ram, a/c E. J. Wilson, 24/6; 206 shorn w.f.w. lambs, a/e “Kumu Kumu” Station, 19/9; 21 woolly w.f.w. lambs, a/c do., 20/5; 23 b.f. lambs, a/c do., 18/1. Other vendors: W.F. ewe (medium) lambs, 2'3/6; medium w.f.w. lambs, 17/4. ■Sundries: Mower, £3; truck, £7. F.C.D. COMPANY LTD. At their Masterton sale yesterday the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-opera-tive Distributing Co., Ltd., report a fair yarding of cattle. Bidding was again slightly restricted, but all lines changed hands at about last week’s rates. Prices ruled as follow:— Sheep: Fat b.f. lambs, 19/10, 20/; fat Romney woolly lambs, 23/10; light fat b.f. wethers, 24/; small 2-tooth b.f. wethers, 18/11; store ewes, 10/; b.f. jambs, 16/8, 19/; shorn wether lambs, 16/9; cull ewes, r.w. ram, 8/. Cattle: Springing cows, £6/15/; springing heifers, £5; fat heifers, exdairy, £4; store cows, 35/ to £2/10/.
