SALE OF LIQUOR.
BREACH OF PACKET LICENCE. WANGANUI, May 25. A fine of £lO was imposed on Wanganui River Services, Ltd., to-day for selling liquor at a landing in the upper reaches of the Wanganui River. While a vessel was tied up two constables went aboard and purchased a bottle of whisky and four bottles of beer. On a similar charge, Ngapene Rapiha, a steward, was fined £2. The packet licence provides for liquor being sold to passengers only while the vessel is in motion.—(P.A.)
