CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.
MASTERTON CLUB MEMBERS IN FORM. The weather was favourable on Saturday when the Masterton Gun Club continued its weekly shoot. The performances were of a particularly high standard. Jim McKenzie followed up his performance of the previous week by registering a possible while F. Taplin, H. Nitz and W. H. Saunders all broke the 18 birds. In the shoot off for the trophy, W. H. Saunders was successful. If these members retain their form some of the prize money in tho North Island championship shoot next month should remain in Masterton. The following were the scores:— W. H. Saunders, 18 yards, 18; F. Taplin, 15 yards, 18; H. Nitz, 15 yards, 18; Jim McKenzie, 13 yards, 18; C. E. Gray, 17 yards, 17; J. Udy, 15 yards, 16; J. Lawrence, 15 yards, 16; J. McKenzie, 18 yards, 16; H. K. Smith, 12 yards, 15; Jack McKenzie, 11 yards, 14; L. Nitz, 11 yards, 14. Six others took part. A cordial invitation is extended to gun enthusiasts to visit the club’s ground at Te Ore Ore any Saturday. Messrs R. J. King or W. H. Saunders will supply any information desired.
