METHODIST CHURCH.
LADIES’ GUILD MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Methodist Ladies’ Guild was held at the Parsonage, Hall Street, yesterday afternoon, Mrs. G. F. Stockwell'presiding over a large attendance of members and friends.
Mrs. R. Russell was welcomed back to the guild after a long absence through illness. A welcome was also extended to visitors from Marton and Wellington. The musical portion of the programme was supplied by MMfe D. O’Donnell and Mrs. Irwin (Wellington). Both rendered two very much appreciated solos. Mrs. Barnes accompanied the singers. An old fashioned photographic competition was held and caused much merriment, the prize being won by Mrs. R. Jamieson. Mesdames Handyside and Drew were the hostesses for the afternoon.
The next meeting of the gu'ild is to be held at Mrs. W. R. Nicol's residence, when Mrs. Conly will give a musical afternoon. It was decided to also have a bring and buy table for the Pyramid Card effort.
