CHILD DROWNED.
RECOVERY OF BODY. WANGANUI, January 20. Dragging operations in the Rangiwaea River on January 16 resulted in the recovery of the body of Peter Martin, aged 3, w)jo had'-been missing from his home at Karioi, near Ohakune, since the previous day. It is believed that the child, who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Martin, slipped' into the, river, which was in flood. A verdict of accidental drowning was returned at an inquest.—(P.A.)
