ST. MATTHEW’S CHURCH.
SPECIAL MUSICAL SERVICES. A feature of Sunday’s services at St. Matthew’s Church will be the special singing led by the choir. In the morning the choir will render a number of well-known carols, in which the congregation will be a-fleed to join, and in the evening the following anthems will be rendered:— “Sing and Rejoice” (Bantig), “Arise Shine for Thy Light is Come” (Caleb Simper), “Hearken Unto Me Thy People” (Sullivan), “His Name Shall Endure for Ever” (Belcher), “O Praise God in His Holiness” (Vine Hall) and the beautiful carol “Silent Night” (Dykes).
Several solos will be sung from “Messiah.” Miss Rose Robinson will sing: “He Shall Feed his Flock” to be followed by “Come Unto Him’’ sung by Mrs. Moss, and Miss Edith Ralph will sing “I Know That My Redeemer Liveth.” Mr. Don Irwin (Carterton! will sing “Nazereth,” by Gounod and the soloists in the anthems are Mrs. Goldsmith, Misses Shelton, Hopkins and Joan Joyce, and Mr. Norman Ninnes and Master Billy Thompson. The choir will be under the direction of Mr. William C. Mann, with Mr. A. Miller Hope at the organ.
