CENTRAL SCHOOL.
MEETING OF CObiAfITTEE. The monthly meeting of the Masterton Central School Committee was held on Thursday, Mr. J: MeV. Calwell presiding, there being also present Messrs W. R. Nicol, C l , J. Braggins, A. E. Freeman, B. Heath, F. Wesney and the headmaster (Ma. E. G. Coddlngton); The headmaster submitted a very satisfactory report on the progress of the school during the past year and congratulations to him and the school staff were expressed upon the splendid results attained.
The secretary was directed to address the season’s greetings to tho headmaster and staff. He was also asked to write to Miss-Evans, expressing appreciation of her valued services and wishing her happy success in her future work.
Messrs Nicol, Freeman and Scrivener were appointed .visiting members for the month by rotation. The school caretaker was granted two weeks’ holiday during the Christmas vacation. K was decided to provide a cup for the. dux of the school and to supply some toys for the Christmas tree for the schoolchildren. The secretary was directed to apply to the board for a •new extension ladder. •. It was decided that the next meeting of the committee be held on January 16.
