BROKEN HILL TRAGEDY.

BOY PURSUED BY POLICE COMMITS SUICIDE. AFTER TAKING MONEY & BUYING RIFLE. SYDNEY, March 21. After being pursued by the police at Broken Hill for more than five miles Bertram O’Sullivan shot himself dead. It is alleged that the boy took money from his father’s home and bought a rifle. His father chased him for some distance, but desisted when his son turned and fired at him. Two policemen after pursuing the boy across country fired a shot in the air to frighten him. The boy, it is alleged, then took refuge behind some bushes and fired at the police. One of the constables circled round behind O’Sullivan, who thereupon shot himself through the temple.
