MASTERTON WEST SCHOOL.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton West School Committee was held last night. There were present: Messrs J. V. Gordon (chairman), A. Oorakie, S. E. Taylor, F.. Shearer, V. Jones, J. A. Russell, W. Batty, E. R. Rogers and the headmaster, Mr. L. J. Mark. The resignation of Mr. A. Williams as representative of the school on ths Wellington Education Board was accepted with deep regret and appreciation of his services was recorded.
The arrangements for supplies of coke for the school were left in ths hands of secretary, Mr. W. V. Madden. Accounts totalling £l2 4s 9d wore passed.
The headmaster reported a roll number of 339 (Main, 259; Bide, 80.) The grounds committee reported on work that needed attention and the secretary was instructed to deal with same.
It was stated that the swimming sports had been postponed indefinitely owing to considerable sickness and to the cold weather. They would probably be held at the beginning of next season.
