ODDFELLOWS’ LODGE.
BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. There was a large attendance of members at the fortnightly meeting of the Loyal Masterton Lodge, Manchester Unity Order of Oddfellows, held last evening. Bro. F. B. Wright, N.G., presided. A letter of recommendation was granted to a member who is now residing in Levin. It was decided to accept a hearty invitation from the Loy el Heart of Oak Lodge, Carterton, to attend a meeting on Monday, March 11, to discuss the formation of a Juvenile lodge. Delegates reported on the U.F.S. Dispensary and explained the various items appearing in the balance sheet. Eulogistic references were made concerning the success achieved by the manager, Mr. L. J. Taylor, and his staff.
A vote of appreciation was most heartily passed to Bros. P. M. Smith and F. H. Wright for long and valuable services rendered as delegates to the United Friendly Dispensary Board. Arrangements were completed for the district conference which is being held to-day. \ Reports from the sick visitors showed that members who were ill were progressing favourably. Regret was expressed at the departure of Bro. R. J. Seddon supervisor of the Juvenile lodge, and a motion was carried placing on record appreciation of the excellent services rendered by both Brother and Sister Seddon for the Juveniles.
