The following cable, dated May 2, has been received from the Bank of Australasia’s London office:—“New Zealand lambs hardening tendency for lightweights, but heavyweights rather weaker, demand good, values likely to remain steady for some time, especially for lightweights; New Zealand mutton in moderate demand, prices weaker, do not anticipate any material change in the near future; New Zealand beef demand good, prices firmer, prospects favourable. ’ ’
