In the Hard-court ‘Championship, men’s singles; quarter-finals, Crawford defeated Boussus, 1/6, 6/4, 1/6, 6/2, 6/4; Kirby defeated McGrath, 6/4, 6/1, 6/1; Perry defeated Miki, 6/2, 6/1, 6/2. In the women’s singles, fourth round, Miss Round defeated Miss Whittingstall, 3/6, 6/4, 6/3; Miss Stammers defeated Miss Dearman 7/9 7/5, 6/2. ’ ’ In the mixed doubles, second round, Sharpe and Miss Dearman defeated Mr. and Mrs. Hopman, 8/6; 3/6, 6/3; Stedman and Miss McAlpine defeated Kirby and Miss Heeley, 2/6, 7/5, 6/3; Malfroy and Miss Stammers defeated Peters and Mrs. Peters, 8/6, 6/3.
