EASY VICTORY

AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS SHOW GOOD FORM. WORCESTER FAIL IN SECOND I STRIKE. GRIMMETT & O’REILLY DEADLY. LONDON, May 3. With five minutes and a day to spare the Australian cricketers _ gained an easy victory aver ’tk& Worcestershire County eleven. Bradman (112 not out on the previous day) completed his double century, and then threw his wicket away, leaving the tail-enders to hit out freely and advance the score to 504. Worcestershire failed in their second innings against the bowling of Grimmett and O’Reilly. There was an attendance of 5000, and towards the close of play the crowd was so amlised at the discomfiture of the Worcestershire batsmen that every run was applauded. The game seemed tame after Bradman’s departure. Oldfield batted crisply, and the 400 mark was reached in only 285 minutes. Oldfield made his half-century in 90 minutes, and then, in going after the runs, he was splendidly caught low down. There were eight 4’s in his score of 67 .• Wall and O’Reilly indulged in some big hitting, adding 40 in fifteen minutes before the innings, which had lasted 350- minutes, closed with the total at 504. The Worcestershire fielding was keen, but the bowling was demoralised. Worcestershire began their second knock at 3.50 p.m., and 'the batting was almost purely defensive. Ebeling took a fine catch in the slips to dismiss Walters, the wicket going to Wall. Gibbons made Only a single during a stay of 45 minutes. The NawaJb of Pataudi made several fine shots, but, after his dismissal, O’Reilly and Grimmett completely dominated the situation. Australia won by an innings and 29'7 runs. Details:— AUSTRALIA.
