WOOL REALISATIONS.

PROCEEDS FROM WELLINGTON' SALES. CONSIDERABLE IMPROVEMENT ON LAST YEAR. WELLINGTON, March 9. The gross value of wool sold at the second Wellington sale, on February 15, was £412,001 10s 7d, compared with £189,740 3s 5d for the corresponding sale in 1933. The amount realised was more than 50 per cent, less than for the Wellington January sale, which returned £637,222, and was £3595 less than for the Wellington December sale. Official returns compiled by the Wellington Wool Brokers’ Association show that at last month’s sale 30,392 bales were offered, of which 26,731' bales, or nearly 88 per cent., were sold. The net weight of wool sold was 9,658,8281 b. The gross proceeds totalled £412,001 10s 7d. The average price per bale was £l5 8s 3d, and the average price per pound 10.204 d.
