PERSONAL ITEMS. ' Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Gill and the Misses H. and P. Gill, Cole Street, are visiting Mrs. B. Blundell, New Plymouth. Mis§ Curtis, Feilding, is staying with Mrs. M. R. Johnstone, Upper Plain. Mrs.- Wilder, who has been staying with Miss McLaren, Cole Street, has Returned to Hawke’s Bay. Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Tomlinson, Renall Street, are spending the term holidays at Paekakariki. Miss Peggy Sellar, Columba Road, is the guest of Mrs. Hopkins, Wellington. Mrs. Fenton, New Plymouth, and her little daughter, are staying with Mrs. S. M. Baird, Cole Street. Miss Gladys Butcher, Dixon Street, who is on holiday, is visiting Napier and Wellington, GOLDEN WEDDING. Mr. and Mrs. James S. Berriman, of Gjeorge Street, pioneer residents of Masterton, celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding yesterday. Mrs. Berriman was formerly Miss Elizabeth Ellis, of Gwinear. Mr. and Mrs. Berriman were married in the Parish Church of Gwinear, in Cornwall, England, by the Rev. Mr. Rods. They come to New Zealand by the R-.M.S. Doric, arriving in Wellington in October, 1884. After spending a few days in Wellington they came to Masterton, which was then the terminus of the railway and have resided here ever since, with the exception of six years, were spent in Eingland. Mr. Berriman was well-known as a successful builder, having erected many houses in the Masterton district, which still stand as testimony to his ability and workmanship. Mr. Berriman retired from business several years ago and now devotes his time to gardening. A keen follower of horticulture, Mr. Berriman has for many years been judging at the various shows. He is also an enthusiastic exhibitor and has won many prizes in this district. The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Berriman will join in wishing them continuous health and happiness for the future.
