MILK GRADING.
REGULATIONS CRITICISED AT WOODVILLE. OBJECTIONS TO CURD TEST. WOODVILLE; August 25. Ninety representatives of dairy factories of the Wairarapa, Bush, and Southern Hawke’s Bay districts met at Woodville to-day to discuss the milk grading regulations. Strong criticism was levelled at the Dairy Division, for instance on the curd test, which •the meeting considered obsolete. The following resolution was passed unanimously: “Being of opinion that the Department is making a grave mistake in insisting on grading by means of a eurd test, the meeting, acting on the recommendation of scientists and the Bush and Wairarapa Factory Managers’ Associations demands an amendment to the regulations so that either blue or microscopic tests may be used at the option of the Factories’ Association.”—(P.A.)
