WAIRARAPA RACING CLUB.
BUSINESS AT ANNUAL MEETING. LATE PRESIDENT ’.S SERVICES EULOGISED. The annual meeting of the Wairarapa Racing dub was held at Featherston on Thursday afternoon, Mr. Q, Donald presiding. Reference was made to the loss sustained by the club in the death of Mr. W. E. Bidwill, who had been associated with the club for over fifty years, and the following motion was carried: “That this annual meeting of the members of the club records its sense of loss in the death of the late president, Mr. W. E. Bidwill, sympathises with his family, and recommends to the stewards a® a fitting memorial the permanent inclusion in the summer or Eister programme of a race or trophy bearing his name.” The stakes for next year were fixed at £6ooo* Officer? were elected as under:—Patron, Mr. S. Cundy; president, Mr. Q. Donald; vice-president, Messrs. H. Morison, T. Benton and J. W. Card; hon. treasurer, Mr. A, Clark; hon. timekeeper, Mr. T. Benton; hon. surgeons, Drs. H. F. Webb, M. B. M. Tweed and G. 8. Sharp; hon. veterinary surgeon, Mr. S. Fletcher; auditors, Messrs. G. W. Sellar and L. H. Smart; stewards, Messrs. R, N. Barton, D. Cameron, T>. C. Collins, Jack Martin, A. Campbell Pearce, and D. H. 8. Riddiford.
