DISTRICT NEWS.
SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. MARTINBOBOUGH. (“The Age” Special.) Mr. and Mrs. Wagg and family, also Mr. E. B. Evans and Miss C. Evans, have taken Mrs. Fleury’s cottage at Otaki Beach for a few weeks. Mrs. Hill and her sister, Timaru, spent a night with Mrs. P. Brody k on the return journey from the Islands. Mrs- Beale is visiting Otaki. Mrs. Grey, Pongaroa, is spending a few days with Mrs. Fleury, the Vicarage. The Wellington. Aero Club’s new ’plane, ZK—-ABV, piloted by Mr. K. Smith, and carrying a passenger, arrived at the local aerodrome on Sunday morning. Mr. F. McLeod leaves this week on a motor tour. The club championships were played at the local tennis courts last Saturday. Mrs. McMaster was the winner of the ladies’ singles, with Miss Wakely runner-up; Mr. D. Ward won the men’s singles by defeating Mr. G. McLeod after a most interesting game. Miss Mavis Martin and Mr. W. Martin defeated Miss A. Brentnall and Mr Thomas in the combined doubles.
