PROFIT TO NEW ZEALAND , CRICKET COUNCIL. PROBABLY ABOUT £7OO. CHRISTCHURCH, April 6. Although no accurate statement of the financial result can be made until the accounts are finally settled it is expected that the tour of the Marylebone Cricket Club team will result in a profit to the New Zealand Cricket Council of about £7OO. The receipts from the first test match at Christchurch amounted to approximately £2200 and those from the second test at Auckland to £l5OO. The third day’s play in caeh test was not insured against loss through rain, but the council will receive £5OO for the loss of the first day’s play in the Wellington match, as against £4OO paid, in premiums for the cover of the whole tour.
