M.C.C. TEAM.

ARRIVAL IN WELLINGTON ON MONDAY. RECEPTION ARRANGEMENTS. WELLINGTON, March 15. The M.C.C. team and its management have heartily concurred with the suggestion of the New Zealand Cricket Council that a number of passes to the match against the Wellington representatives at the Basin Reserve next Tuesday and Wednesday should be allocated to relief workers. Mr. A Varney, secretary of the Wellington Association, states that the passes will be sent by the New Zealand Council to the Unemployment Bureau, and Mr. Kinsman, head of that Department, has agreed td arrange for their distribution. The M.C.C. team is to be welcomed by the Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) and members of Cabinet at Parliament Bui.ldings at 11 a.m on Monday, th» day/>f its arrival from Sydney by the Maunganui. Mr. Forbes will be the principal speaker. A civic reception will be accorded to the team m the Town Hall at 12.15 p.m. the same day. The Mayor (Mr. T. C. A Hislop) on behalf of the City Council and citizens of Wellington, the R,t. Hon. J. G. Coates, representing the Government, and a member of the New Zealand Crieket Council- will be the principal speakers. Arrangements have been made for a dinner to be given to the Yorkshire members of the team in the Dominion Farmers’ Institute on Monday night.—(P.A.)
