KOPUARANGA SCHOOL
ANNUAL PICNIC AND SPOBTB. The Kopuaianga School picnic wa» held last Friday at Kopuaranga, under ideal weather conditions. The School Committee catered for both young and old. and. a very enjoyable time wa* spent by all. Numerous races were run and the children were awarded prizes, on points. The following are the results:— Girls over 10 years (possible,. 16 points).—Lilian Westhead, 13 points, 1; Betty Kenny and Waina Greenland, each 11 points, 2; Winnie Westhead, 10 points, 4; Eileen Jarrett, 8 points. 5; Jean Millar, 2 points, 6. Girls under 10 years (possible-, 12 points).—Maisie Cottle, 12 points, 1; Nancy Westhead, and Duleie Kenny, each 9 points, 2; Patsy Westhead and Margaret Clarke, each 5 points, 4. Boys over 10 years (possible, 16 points).—Geoffrey Clarke, 14 points. 1; Henry Moje, 9 points, 2; Bruce Millar, 5 points, 3; Harold Cottle and Vcrny Kenny, each 7 points, 4; Owen Jarrett, 6 points, 6.
Boys under 10 years( possible, 12 points).—Jack Cottle, 12 points, 1; Eric Kenny, 10 points, 2; Joe Brown, 8 points, 3; Leo O’Shea, 7 points, 4; Jack Millar, and Tom Moss, eaeh 5 points, 5. Other events resulted:—Single ladies’ Race: Miss Rebecea Westhead; married ladies’ race, Mrs. Kenny; single men’s race, N. Moje; married men’e race, H. Evans; tiny tots‘ raee, Pauline Ross.
