PARK KIOSK ENTERED.
BURGLARY ON SUNDAY NIGHT.
MAN ARRESTED YESTERDAY
The Tea Kiosk in the Masterton Park was broken into on Sunday night and thoroughly ransacked, but with the exception of a small kitchen clock, nothing was taken. The intruder, who gained entrance to the forcing a window, was search of money, for the stocks of confectionery and soft drinks were not disturbed. There w-as no money on the premises. The discovery was made yesterday morning by the Park Custodian, Mr. H. Sturgeon, and reported to the police. Later in the day a man was arrested in connection with the offence. He will appear in the Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of breaking and entering. A. similar charge in respect of an offence in Wellington will also be preferred against the accused. CASE AT FEATHERSTON. Late on Friday night or early on Saturday morning the premises of the Wairarapa Racing Club at Featherston were broken into. An entry was made by using a jemmy or similar instrument and the burglars searched every room thoroughly, scattering papers, etc., about the floor. A small safe was broken open with an axe and the cash, contents taken, as well as a eheoue book.
