At last night's meeting of the Borough Council, the Mayor, Mr. T. Jordan, on behalf of himself and Mrs Jordan, conveyed seasonal greetings to councillors, and to the Borough, inside and outside staffs. Councillor H. M. "Peacock replied on behalf of councillors, the Town Clerk (Mr. T. T. Denbee) on behalf of the inside staff and the Borough Engineer (Mr. C. R. Mabson) on behalf of the outside staff. A party of forty boys, members of the band section of the Young Australia League, arrived at Auckland by the Marama yesterday for a two months’ tour of Now Zealand. They fire under the charge of Mr. B. W. Caten, and each boy is proficient in the playing of some band instrument. They were welcomed on the wharf by the Ponsonby Boys’ Band, and both bands marched through Queen Street to the Town Hall, where the visitors were accorded a civic reception. The boys will appear in Masterton on January 4.

'By arrangement with Air Travel Ltd. and in conjunction with the P. and T. Department, the Wairarapa Aero Club’s ’planes ZK-ACD and ZKABE will be carrying Christmas air mails on Saturday next, December 24. Mr A. V. Jury, a B. pilot of the club, will take ZK-ACD on the northern • route, from Palmerston North to Auckland and return, and Flying-Officer J. Buckeridge will carry mails over the southern route, from Palmerston North to Invercargill. Flying-Officer Gerrand, of the Hawke’s Bay Club, will cover the Hawke’s Bay and East Coast run.
