DRUIDS’ LODGE.
BUSINESS AT FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Druids Lodge was held in the Foresters’ Hall last night, Bro. C. Wilmhurst, A.D., presiding. Six Brothers were declared on the sick benefit of the Lodge. A favourable report was received on the sick brethern, and siek pay and accounts amounting to £22 12s lid were passed. The Grand Lodge Executive extended the season’s greetings to Stonehenge Lodge. Reports were received on the Druids’ Christmas Tree function, stating that a very successful gathering was held. A vote of thanks was passed to the members of the lodge and the ladies’ committee for their assistance at the function.
Bro. C. H. Anderson reported on the Friendly Societies’ Dispenscry. He stated that steady progress was being made.
Bro. R. Wilton presented a photograph of an old member to the lodge. The holding of a Druid’s picnie in January was discussed. A committee was set up to finalise the details for the picnic about January 22. The A.D. extended the season’s greetings to the officers and members of the Lodge. CHRISTMAS TREE. The Druids’ Christmas Tree function, which was held in the Foresters’ Hall on Saturday afternoon, was attended by about three hundred children and parents. A very happy and enjoyable time was spent by those present and Father Christmas had a gift for all the young people. Refreshments were also provided for the children and the members and their wives were also entertained. A committee of the officers of the lodge and a ladies’ committee under Sister Shackleton attending to the various arrangements.
