SERIOUS CHARGE.
ACCUSED TO STAND TRIAL. WAIPUKURAU, December 19. At Waipukurau to-day before Justices of the Peace, Desmond Kenny, about •23, formerly of the Weraroa Training Farm and arrested recently at Whakatane was charged with attempted rape on a woman of 32 at South Makaretu in October, 1926. The accused reserved his defence and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court at Napier.— (P.A.)
