HIDE AND SHEEPSKIN SALE.

Messrs Murray Roberts and Co., Ltd. report:—At our fortnightly sale on Friday of sheepskins and hides competition was keen throughout, fine woolled skins selling at par with late rates, coarse wools a farthing easier. In hides ox sold at an advance of a farthing in light weights, par to an eighth of a penny for medium weights, and a farthing advance in heavies. Cows were on the whole slightly easier, heavy weight cows maintaining last sale’s level. Yearling and kip sold at an advance of a farthing in light weights, medium selling af the same level as last sale. Calf skins sold fully up to last sale’s level with occasionally a slight hardening in price. No sale will bo held on December 30 but

sales will be resumed on January 13. The following is the range of prices:— Dry sheepskins: Halfbred, 2J<l to 4d; fine crossbred, 2}d to 3?d; medium crossbred, l|d to 3d; coarse crossbred, IJd to 2Jd; half wools, l|d to 24d; quarter wools, l}d to Ifd; pelts, Jd to ijd. Salted Skins: Pelts, 5d to 7d; quarter wools, 6d; half wools, 7d; lambs, 4d. Hides: Ox 33/44, 3Jd- to 4fd; 45/52, 3Jd to 4»d; 53/59, 3 7-8 d to 4 7-8 d; 60/60, 4 l-8d to sd; 70 and over, 4d to 5 l-Bd. Cow. 33/30, 1 7-8 d to 4}d; 40/48, 2fd to 4}d; 49 and over, 3fd to 4 3-Bd. Kip, 25/32, 21 d to 4jd; 17/24, 3 5-8 d to 4 7-Bd. Yearling, 11/16, lid to sd. Calf, 9/10, IJd to sd; 6/8, 31d to 6 l-8d; 1/5, 3 3-8 d to 5 7-Bd. Tallow: In casks, 15/6 to 17/-.
