OBITUARY.
MBS. WILI-lAM WISE. The many friends of Mrs. William Wise will learn with deep regret of her death, which occurred yesterday, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. W. Stear, Herbert Street. The late Mrs. Wise was born in Kent, England, and came to New Zealand in a sailing ship sixty years ago. She had been a wellknown and highly respected resident of Masterton for over 40 years. Her husband predeceased her about 25 years ago. Messrs. W. Wise, Masterton, Fred Wise, Wellington, Arthur Wise, Melbourne, Alfred Wise, Masterton, Ernest Wise, Petone, and Robert Wise, America, are sons, and Mrs. W. Stear, Masterton, is a daughter. The late Mrs. Wise is also survived by four sisters, Mesdames F. Mathews, Masterton, T. Taylor, Christchurch, W. Dixon, Petone and W. B. Wright, Hamilton. The funeral will take place to-morrow, leaving the residence of Mrs. W. Stear, 30 Herbert Street, at 3 p.m., for tho Masterton Cemetery.
