W.F.C.A. STAFF BALL.
MUNICIPAL HALL TOMORROW EVENING. Holders of invitations are finally reminded of the W.F.C.A., Ltd., Staff Ball, to be held in the Municipal Hall to-morrow evening at 8 o’clock. Owing to the excellent management and sociability usually prevailing, this annual ball has come to be regarded as one of the outstanding social events of the Wairarapa season, so far as the larger dance functions are concerned. This year, members of the enthusiastic Staff Ladies’ Committee are redoubling their efforts to ensure even better service and quality than ever in connection with the supper arrangements, while the large and energetic Men’s Committee is concentrating on an original and novel decorative scheme, improved floor and refreshment buffet preparations, etc. Following the staff’s usual custom of engaging local in preference to outside orchestras, a specially chosen musical programme will be rendered t>y the augmented Gaiety Orchestra, of seven instrumentalists.’ As in past years the extras will be played by the W.F.C.A. ’Staff Orchestra, consisting of six players. In keeping with the times, the usual subscription has been substantially reduced. Large contingents of staff members and friends from all branches between Wellington and Darf.aevirake, inclusive, have signified their intention of being present and judging by the inquiries received, and given a fine evening, there is every indication of a record gathering. Anyone whose invitation has been inadvertently overlooked is asked to communicate immediately with any member of the staff.
