NORDON CUP MATCH.
The Wairarapa and Bush hockey representatives are to compete to-morrow in the first round of the Nordon Cup tests. The cup is a coveted trophy of the smaller associations and with the progress hockey has made both in the Wairarapa and the Bush during the past 18 months, it is anticipated that a sparkling exhibition of the stick game will be witnessed. The selector and manager of the Wairarapa eleven, Mr. J. Fisher, is confident that the local players will uphold their traditions of past teams entered for the cup and considers they should bring credit to themselves and the association. Cummings replaces Knutson, who was injured on Saturday, in the Wairarapa team, and the reserves will be: Forward, Williams (Y.M.C.A.); backs, R. Foster (Kiwi), Watts (Kiwi). The following is the Bush team;— Goal, A Meads; backs, R. Foreman, AJory; halves, K. Fulton, E. Lett, E. Hutchinson; forwards, H. Rose, E. Mexted, H. Ward, J. Hutchinson, M. Fulton; emergencies, J. McKinley, C. McDonald.
The game is to be played at 3 p.m. on the association’s new grounds in front of the hospital.
