LAID TO REST.
LATE M. BRIAND INTERRED IN VILLAGE CEMETERY.
PARIS, July 3. -The remains bf the late Aristide Briand were finally laid to rest in a tomb of granite in the village of Cockerel within a hundred yards of the trout stream in which the old statesman loved to fish. M. Herriot camo especially from Lausanne to deliver the funeial oration, in which he eloquently traced M. Briand’s lifework. The cemetery was too small to accommodate the throng of mourners, including Mr. KelAmbassadors) Government deputies, and ex-servicemen.
(Cockerel is situated in lower Seine A alley, about 30 miles from Rouen.)
