WEDDING.

BASSETT-—O LI VEIL The marriage took place at St. Mark’s Church, Carterton, on July 6, of Edith Clara, daughter of the late Mr?~*and Mrs C. Oliver, and Thomas Hilton, second son of Mr. and Mrs T. H. Bassett, of Carterton. The bride, who was escorted l by her cousin, Mr. R. Matthews, of Masterton, was dressed in a model frock of ivory georgette with silk lace and orange blossom trimmings. She wore an embroidered tulle veil draped mostly to one side, and held in place with clusters of orange blossoms on each side. Her shower bouquet was of hot house orchids and ferns. Two little bridesmaids were in attendance, Vina Bradley (Wanganui), niece of the bride, in a dress of powder blue crepe de chene with head dress of blue forget-me-nots and long streamers of velvet ribbon of the same shade; and Lynby Hay (Wellington), neice of the bridegroom, in coral and pink georgette and head-dress of tiny rose buds and butterfly bow of coral pink tulle. Each carried a posy bouquet to tone and wore gold armlets, the gift of the bridegroom. Mr. Graham Bassett, brother of the bridegroom was best man, and the Rev; W. F. Stent the officiating minister. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s neice, Mrs A. L. Edwards, Garrison Street. Mr. and Mrs T. H. Bassett left later by car for Wanganui, the bride wearing a tailored costume of grey saxe blue face cloth, coat trimmed with brown fur, brown shoes and stockings, and togue of saxe blue felt. She carried a silver grey fox fur, the gift of the bridegroom.
