DISMISSAL OF PROFESSOR IN SOUTH AFRICA. CAPE TOWN, August 25. Professor Duplessis’ action against the Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church by which he seeks to nullify his dismissal from the Theological Seminary of the Stellenbosch University has opened before three Judges of the Supreme Court. Counsel for the Synod held that the Court could not override the Church Court on the question of doctrine. The plaintiff’s counsel argued that the plaintiff had not. broken any church doctrine and the interpretation of all contracts rested with Civil Courts.
