President Augusto Legttia, who has ruled Peru under virtual dictatorship for eleven years, has resigned and fled towards Panama aboard a cruiser. A military insurrection started a week ago in Southern Peru and spread like ■wildfire under the leadership of Colonel Sanchez Guerro.
