DICTATOR DEPARTS.
PRESIDENT OF PERU LEAVES IN A HURRY. AFTER ELEVEN YEARS’ RULE. MILITARY INSURRECTION. LIMA (Peru), August 25. President Augusto Legttia, who has ruled Peru under virtual dictatorship for eleven years, has resigned and fled towards Panama aboard a cruiser. A military insurrection started a week ago in Southern Peru and spread like ■wildfire under the leadership of Colonel Sanchez Guerro. Disorders broke out in the capital after the president’s resignation was announced. Four citizens were killed.
