EXCITING GAME.
NEW ZEALAND LEAGUE TEAM SCORES A WIN. MATCH AGAINST SOUTHERN DISTRICTS. (Received Wednesday, 11.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, August 6. The New Zealand League team had a hard and exciting game against Southern Districts at Young to-day. The result was in doubt till the final whistle. The half-time scores were fifteen to twelve in Southern Districts’ favour, but when the final whistle sounded the visitors had a four-point lead, the scores being New Zealand 24, Southern Districts 20. The New Zealand scorers were: Brisbane, Timms, Gregory, Amos (tries) and Dufty kicked six goals.
