FLIGHT OF R100.
BIGGEE & BASTES AIRSHIPS NEEDED. LESSONS OF THE VOYAGE. MONTREAL, August 4. “Airships of the 8100 type never* can compete with present methods of transportation over short distances, but they eome into their own when oceans are to be covered,” WingOommiander E. H. B. Cdmore told, the Canadian club in an address on Monday. He thought that the lesson to be learned from the flight was that larger airships were required to make commercial ocean flights successful. They would be able to carry more fuel, enabling the airship to maintain a uniform speed of seventy knots. The 8100 could not do this.
