TRUST LANDS TRUST BILL k W NEW FORM. REPORT FROM LOCAL BILLS COMMITTEE. TRUSTEES’ POWERS DEFINED. Telegraph.—“The Age” Special.) WELLINGTON, August 5. The Mastertoii Trust Lands Trust Amendment Bill has been reported from the Local Bills Committee in a completely new form. It has a new preamble and the only operative clause has been also redrafted. It confers on the Masterton Trust Lands Trustees power to make grants to students resident, or formerly resident, in the district, whether they are holders of scholarships or not, such grants to be as the Trustees think fit to r' aid the student in post-primary education and also, out of the same revenues, to found and endow scholarships tenable at any public ■P educational institution within the district. The trustees’ powers under this clause are declared to be retrospective.
