SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS.
PIRINOA. (“The Age” Special.) Nurse Enoka was the guest of her brother, Mr. Waaka Enoka, for the week-end. Nurse Enoka is on the staff of the Napier Hospital. Miss Dawson, who has been m charge of the Pirinoa School for the past five years, relinquishes her position at the end of the present term, in order to take up the position of head teacher at Fernridge, Masterton. Mr. and Mrs. Hiko McMaster have returned from a short visit to the Hawke’s Bay district. A very successful bridge party was held at the residence of Mrs. George Hume recently. A most enjoyable evening was spent. Competition prizes were won by Miss Dawson and Messrs. McTlwraith and B. Doughty. Mr. T. Winstanley was the victim of a very painful accident on Saturday, when a heavy piece of timber fell on his head, inflicting a nasty ghsh. was immediately taken to Martin-bor-ough for medical attention. Mr. and Mrs. W. Bush and family have taken up their residence in Martinborough. The weather continues to be bad, but not so cold as last week. Present conditions tend to a continuation of unsettled weather.
