Signor Mussolini has received a report that the number killed in the earthquake totals 2142 and the injured 4551. The list is still incomplete. TOUCHING SCENES. KING VISITS RUINED VILLAGES. (Received Sundav, 5.5 p.m.) ROME, July 27. The King traversed the ruins of the village of Lacedonia and found at the end thereof an old man weeping inconsolably. Ho-is the only survivor of an entire family. His 24 children and grandchildren perished. At MaJfi- the King was deeply moved at the sight of a girl just taken out of the ruins of her home with both legs severed. Ten people were unearthed who had been buried since Wednesday. It is hoped that most will survive.
