OLD MAN KILLED.
LORRY FALLS OVER FIFTY FEET. ACCIDENT NEAR WOODVILLE. WOODVILLE, July 26. When descending a hill on the Saddle Road, about 3.15 p.m. to-day, a motor lorry loaded with firewood and driven by J. Burlacc, of Woodville, fell 50 to 60 feet. The driver escaped with minor injuries, but a man named J. Mitchell, an. old age pensioner, received severe injuries <and died later, aftr being attended by Dr. Mules. It is believed the brakes failed. The deceased was a married man with a family, who are living in various parts of New Zealand. An inquest will be held here on Monday.—(P.A.)
