DISTRICT NEWS.
PIRINOA. (“The Age” Special.) Mr. J. Gardner, sole teacher at Tuhitarata, had the misfortune on a recent morning to be thrown from his horse, He was picked up in an unconscious condition and removed to a private hospital in Featherston, where he is progressing favourably. Canon W. G. Williams, superintendent of Maori Missions, and the Rev. P. Kokiri, were visitors to the district during the week. The heaviest fall of snow for some considerable time past was experienced in the district on Friday.
